Experience: 39 years of aircraft wind tunnel program and individual test planning, conduct and documentation for both military and commercial aircraft programs.  Sixty-seven test entries of various types completed.  Flight test planning and conduct, data identification and extraction.  Aerodynamic discrepancy resolution for production and in-service issues.

Technical Expertise: Well versed in planning wind tunnel/CFD/flight test data contributions to create aerodynamic database to support aircraft design, simulation, and airloads.  Development of Statements of Work defining model requirements for vendors and test requirements for wind tunnel facilities.  Responsible for resolving discrepancies from definition and acceptance of models from vendors. Single point of contact for test facility staff and company analysts to ensure data quality and understanding of all corrections and data contents.  Generation of a comprehensive post test report for each test entry and a summary report for the wind tunnel program to ensure expensive data is accessible and usable once acquired.

Conduct of force/moment/pressure tests, both half and full span.  Elevated Reynolds number testing, via pressurization and cryogenic tunnel capability.  Propulsion integration testing, including inlet and thrust reverser effects.  Icing accretion model and testing.  Weapon integration, including Captive Trajectory Store grid and trajectory testing.  Air Data System development testing.  Familiar with spin and rotary balance techniques.  On site experience with numerous facilities, including commercial, US Department of Defense, NASA, and academic tunnels.

Education: BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, 1981.

Achievements: Associate Fellow of AIAA since 2001, Savannah Section Chair and Communications Chair.  Member US Wind Tunnel User’s Group since inception.
